Mt. Etna is a volcano of flavours. The many eruptions over the centuries have created an extremely fertile soil which extends from the rocky shores of the Mediterranean sea to the highest slopes of the Volcano, in a great variety of microclimates. Characteristics that are reflected in the unique flavours of fruits, vegetables and grapes.
The Etnean cuisine, deeply Mediterranean for its culture and geography, is a triumph of flavours, a treasure chest of ancient knowledge. Etna wines, known from antiquity, today are appreciated around the world thanks to the ability of some wineries that have been able to innovate the tradition interpreting the terroir in the best way, producing great wines.

To enjoy the excellence and varieties of Etna wines and pair them with the best Sicilian recipes, Cotumè has chosen some of the best wineries around the different slopes of the volcano.

If you want to discover the wines of the south-east side of Sicily while attending our cooking classes, we have another option, in the bright countryside around Syracuse: a winery hosted in a Norman castle and dedicated to the production of organic wines.
