Palazzo Scammacca is located in the Baroque heart of Catania, a stone's throw from Piazza Duomo and the Piscarìa, the traditional and colorful food market.
Owned by the Scammacca family, one of the oldest aristocratic families whose history dates back to the 7th century, the Palazzo was rebuilt by Baron Scammacca del Murgo in the 18th century after the big herthquacke of 1693 that destroyed the city. In 2010, Emanuele Scammacca del Murgo has started the restoration of the building.
Today, the large historic rooms on the first floor host exhibitions and cultural events, while the ground floor has been transformed into a jazz concert hall and bistro; other parts of the building are dedicated to hospitality, with a series of elegant rooms and suites.
